“I know I’m not alone, ladies- We all love to have a nice glass of wine with our friends every now and then, but there comes a time where our “alcohol phase” is over. Once I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I realized it was time to start consuming things that would help my body instead of hurt it. Many women like myself are putting down the wine glass for CBD or Delta-8 hemp cannabis, as its health benefits certainly outweigh alcohol’s adverse effects.
Shortly after I began college, I realized I no longer liked the effects of drinking. Sure, initially it felt great, but I was never a fan of the hangover. I didn’t want to know I was going to end up with a headache, or feeling horribly the next day. Alcohol interferes with the brain and can affect mood, behavior and mobility skills. Over time, it can lead to a variety of health problems and even weaken the immune system. For me, it was a clear choice. I wanted to find something else to help me focus, relax, relieve some of my fibro pain, but I no longer wanted the negative health effects from alcohol. Don’t get me wrong, I still drink alcohol at special occasions, but I find those events few and far between my busy schedule. At the time, I was a full-time college student, a part-time PR intern, worked a part-time job and was a full-time training athlete- so you can imagine the crazy schedule I was keeping up. I discovered CBD and began using it to focus and stay on track with my daily tasks.
I realized it helped me sleep better, it seemed to lessen my anxiety and help me get more productivity out of my day. I thrive when I’m productive, and sometimes its hard to stay moving forward when you have what feels like a million things on your plate. When I started using CBD, it felt like that ‘breath of fresh air,’ feeling. The extra push I needed to chill out, focus and power through my days. Up until college, I never even paid attention to any CBD product I saw on the market. I knew it was known to provide many health benefits, but I thought it was another scam. I began researching CBD and realized the importance of knowing and trusting where you’re buying hemp cannabis products from. I quickly figured out that quality matters, and doing your research matters even more.
In recent years, Delta-8-THC is becoming increasingly popular. I like to think of Delta-8 as a close cousin to cannabis, without the psychoactive effects that get you high. It’s considered legal by the federal government because it is derived from the hemp plant, instead of marijuana. When I discovered Delta-8-THC to be spoken of as the ‘less potent marijuana’. I needed to try it, and it definitely held true to my expectations. Stronger than CBD, less potent than traditional marijuana. I now had the perfect fix. I found something that gave me relaxation, focus and clarity, and also relieved a great amount of my fibromyalgia symptoms.
At first, the truth is, like most women, I hid my love for cannabis from many people around me. I’d like to thank new laws and regulations for now making cannabis a much more open topic in today’s media. Many celebrities and public figures are coming out publicly about their love for cannabis, which helps our society move forward in researching the plant’s ongoing benefits. In my personal life, I’ve grown to use hemp cannabis quite frequently, on a variety of occasions. It helps me focus to plan my daily schedule. It calms my anxiety before meetings. It relieves my chronic pain and nausea from fibromyalgia. I get better sleep and wake up feeling much more rested.
I love using CBD and Delta-8-THC because I am able to microdose to get exactly the amount I need, and nothing more. Microdosing is exactly what it sounds like, taking a “micro” amount of CBD or Delta-8-THC to get your desirable physical and mental effects without getting you high. The standard D8 dose is based on your sex, weight age and tolerance levels, so make sure you are only taking the amount specified on your product. To microdose, you would start at a lower dose, and monitor its effects on your body. Once you figure out your baseline, you can try increasingly the dose slightly and monitoring its effects. A great way to microdose your Delta-8-THC is with BaySmokes Delta-8 THC gummies. Delta-8-THC also comes in a variety of tinctures, cartridges and vapes. My current favorite is Bay Smokes Delta 8 Vape because it is super sleek and fits in all of my wristlets. There are so many ways that CBD and hemp cannabis can enhance the daily lives and general sense of well being for many busy women like myself. Over the years, myself and many others have decided consuming cannabis is a much better alternative to alcohol.” If you’re looking for greenhouse grown, laboratory tested, top-quality flower, look no further.
